Ok, Life has just been so busy this last year for me. I havn't worked on the cars for a long time. Too long. But it's not that i havn't been busy.
I've finished above my garage and made it an office/apartment with a kitchenet and all that. Also re did my audio video room, replaced all the windows in my house, and re roofed it.

5 months ago we had a baby girl. She's a blessing, cute and sweet. She was 5 weeks early, and she got phenumonia so she was in the premature ICU for about 10 days. She's doing great now, healthy and strong. (and the bills are arriving.... cha-ching!)
There's also been year end business and family and all that stuff.
This whole time, my GARAGE has seen no attention. just storage and work, and caprentry stuff...

It's a feekin Mess!
Disorganized, cluttered, tools everywhere, crap stacked up... ya know, a Freekin Mess!

So, It's time for the Garage Organization build thread.
This is more of a shop than a place to park my cars.
It needs usable work space, lots of storage and organization. and not just for car tools, all my crap.
so things need to be setup in a more usable & organzied way.
We couldn't even work on the 67 with all the crap in there.

Here's how it looked last week.

Re: GARAGE

After the baby strollers, baby seats & kid bikes were removed! time for setp one:
a WELDING BENCH. For Cutting and weld and hammer things.
It sucks doing it on the ground. Sore back, weld burns on the concrete, and chuncks fly if you get it too hot. So I made this bench.
It's got casters so I can move it around to where I'm working.

I've also had my plasma cutter, welder and bottle kicking around for years.
Tired of moving them around, so I put them up inside the bench here. plugs, leads, air lines, ground cables. IN THE WAY!
The bottle (tri-mixed gas shield for the wire feed) and the plasma cutter sit on the little brackets here. and there's a place to hang all the finger-clamps ( a welders best friend) and nozzle dip.

The bench has a 3/8 thich top plate, and notice how the angles below it have the flange facing out - this is for clamping things to it. very usefull.

When not being used, it sits right under the bench here.
I like how it turned out.

Re: GARAGE

Good start on the cleaning up. My dads garage/shop is loaded with Mach1 parts all over the place. It is 24x40 and super cluttered with project crap.

Re: GARAGE

Paul does have a nicer floor than me! I'd love to coat mine - it makes it really nice to clean up and looks sweet.

My garage isn't that big, put 6' around paul's and that's pretty much it.
it seemed big when it was empty, then benches, cabnets, tools and 2 cars, and yep it's full.

I've spent the last 6 years equiping my garage, so i do agree with little by little.
Sometimes you can take big steps, the rest of the time you just have to stay with it.
time and money, like most things.
