Hey guys, I'm totally new to this forum but I'd like to share a new website that I'm developing which is dedicated to the mustang owners (and their cars) who've participated in a standing mile event. For those that haven't heard of the standing mile, drivers have one mile to hit or exceed 200mph. Historically the mustang hasn't been a go-to car by those attempting to hit 200mph yet there have been hundreds of mustang attempts and a handful of them have succeeded! Doing so is a massive achievement yet these results are often buried in old excel, pdf, or even raw csv files. Participating in a standing mile event has been a dream of mine for awhile, these folks doing it are my heroes. A few weeks ago I decided to start building a site that would showcase their attempts and successes.
Initially the site was going to be a simple list of results organized by year spanning standing mile events nationwide. However as the site unfolded, the scope began to evolve to where it is now. Results go back as far as 2007. I've incorporated years 2007 through 2011 of the Texas Mile and 2010 of the Mojave Mile. I hope to have 2011 through 2013 in by the end of the week. Once those are in, I'll start rolling in results from some of the smaller venues. I also have some additional filters/features that I'd like to develop but I wanted to share the site with you and see what you think so far.
Here is the site: www.standing-mile.com
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
-Mike
