Hey guys, I'm totally new to this forum but I'd like to share a new website that I'm developing which is dedicated to the mustang owners (and their cars) who've participated in a standing mile event. For those that haven't heard of the standing mile, drivers have one mile to hit or exceed 200mph. Historically the mustang hasn't been a go-to car by those attempting to hit 200mph yet there have been hundreds of mustang attempts and a handful of them have succeeded! Doing so is a massive achievement yet these results are often buried in old excel, pdf, or even raw csv files. Participating in a standing mile event has been a dream of mine for awhile, these folks doing it are my heroes. A few weeks ago I decided to start building a site that would showcase their attempts and successes.

Initially the site was going to be a simple list of results organized by year spanning standing mile events nationwide. However as the site unfolded, the scope began to evolve to where it is now. Results go back as far as 2007. I've incorporated years 2007 through 2011 of the Texas Mile and 2010 of the Mojave Mile. I hope to have 2011 through 2013 in by the end of the week. Once those are in, I'll start rolling in results from some of the smaller venues. I also have some additional filters/features that I'd like to develop but I wanted to share the site with you and see what you think so far.

Here is the site: www.standing-mile.com

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
-Mike

Thanks Bob! You're right, as I was entering some of the initial entries I noticed that each year mustang participation at least doubled which is really exciting. It was also really cool to see some of the same owners returning year after year slowly getting faster and faster until they hit 200, it's really inspiring.

Hey man let me know when you do and I'll include a link to your build thread on the site. I want to create somewhat of a community news feed page where people can go to learn about other peoples projects and your build page would be a great first post.

I will run Texas Mile someday. It looks really fun. I think stock Coyotes run in the 140s, and with a 624 hp Whipple kit they're in the 170s.

200 mph takes lots of power, good gearing, safety equipment, and aero.

You grab one of MustangChris legs and i'll get the other. If we hold him upside down and shake him we might get the first installment.

pft. going to have to find someone with deeper pockets than me. All that'll pop out of that is my incredibly large man-junk... probably break your foot when it falls on it.

I just got a new super baller job today as a matter of fact, but I'm too cheap to spend all my newfound coin on my car. (especially since much of it is going to my kept woman's medical degree)

Oh well, someday I'll make it to Texas Mile.

Paul.

Hey, there is nothing wrong with helping to "better one's mate"..

That means they can help pay for the sex swings and shit..

Back on topic, I would love to attend on of these events sometime.

She is quite kept. One more year of pre-med, then med school, then residency, then maybe I can retire. LOL
