1995 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 with a 5 Speed So far- CAI Cheap Glass Pack mufflers Adjustable Clutch Cable MSD Cap/Rotor Etc. And routine maintenance etc. I Love the car, But the passenger Cat is leaking, the front one. Not a big issue I know, But when money is tight and you do not have a place to work on the car, or the proper tools, it becomes a problem. lol But I am just taking it day by day. Anyone got any cheap tips/tricks to get some power out of this old girl? I Set my timing to 12* and I run 89 gas with no pinging, anything higher and I am worried about it so I just keep it there. Here are some pic's of her how she sits today. The gas cap and hash marks are plasti dip so I can remove them when I get bored with them. Lol What idea's can you guys point out to wake this car up a bit? Even if its just restoring lost power. :headbang:
Nice car! I agree though take the black off the gas cap it just sticks out too much. Another member had a very clean teal GT til it got nuked You should check his out it might give you some ideas for yours.. http://www.sn95forums.com/showthread.php?61275-teal-95-gt
Clean Teal Gt. As far as pwr. your basically stuck till you can afford to put some gears in it. (no pwr increase but it will accelerate a lot faster). Then dependine on $$$, Budget wise Exploder GT40 heads and intake and a steeda 19 or Trick flow stage 1 cam. If you win the lottery then full alumnium TF top end.
Yeah, that's on a list of to-do's for today. lol Going to do that, and remove spare tire/tool's etc. Lighter = Free = Cheap Speed
That's a clean car you got! Go with a set of gears my man! But just like CC said, no more hp, but will definitely wake the car up.
Is jumping from 3.27's to 3.55's worth it? I do a bunch of Highway driving. I don't think the gain of it would be worth it, and 4.10 would kill my gas. lol Buddy has a set of 4.30's sitting in his old 94, but it's not running anymore.
Got my timing at 12, running 89 Gas with no pinging. And is a swap from 3.27's to 3.73's worth it? I mean, I am calculating Mileage and gas into that, not just speed benefit. And yeah I realize, any power I add = less gas MPG, but I'd rather be able to cruise lower RPM's for freeway driving.
I haven't ever noticed a difference in mpg. Has always gotten 18mpg @ 80mph. Maybe if I drove it like an old lady, but thats what the fusion is for.....lol
