Got the Cobra R wheels out from storage. Gave them a nice cleaning switched the wheels, balanced'em out and went on a 150 mile test ride.

IMO the car looks 1000x better already. Let me know what you guys think!

For those of you that do not know here are 2 pics of the car with the old wheels.

Pic of the previous wheels. (Previous owners wheels, plasti dipped by me) Pic when dirty

Thanks man! A simple change of the wheels and its already looking better! Makes me want to change more things on it lol. For starters those stock front headlights.

Definately looks better but I've never been a fan of black wheels. Any plans to lower it? You should look into a projector retrofit if its your daily driver. One of the best things I've done to mine and it wasnt to awful hard. You would still need clear lens lights though.

I've never been a fan of black wheels either. So the cobra's are a definate improvement.
Changing those 4x4 springs should be at the top of the list too.

Although those first wheels aren't the greatest, I've just grown tired of seeing Cobra R's.

If the first ones were polished I would like them a whole lot better.

Thanks guys, def looks a little off with the 4x4s, I could always throw some cinder blocks in the truck hahahaha.

Prob will cut a coil or two off the spring if not pick up a set of springs. To be honest, the roads around me are a crap shoot. You can be on a perfect county paved road take a turn and boom your in land mine city. After driving many different cars on the same road i can appreciate the 97s ability to cruise over bumps holes and railroad tracks as if the road were flat. Stiff lowered cars take the roads extremely rough if you were to take an unavoidable turn and if it were slammed i do not see you going above 5 mph =/. Ill try and get a pic one day of the road in my mind, some are 5ft plus craters, instant blow out. How are the roads for you guys who are low low?

I will look into the headlights, if anyone has a pair of lenses laying around let me know.

Ive been a fan of black wheels for awhile now, however i have mostly seen them on darker tone cars for instance my buddies Black E39 M5. I agree that after looking into both i am so far a bigger fan of polished on blue.

Yeah, i hear you. Wasnt a big fan of the previous wheels, Cant complain about these new results though, although cobra rs are common they were just laying around waiting to be used lol, a good wheel and tire change for free is good with me

The previous wheels did come polished. Sadly however, they were already on the car for many years and had seen better days. With a little metal polish and sunlight they actually looked really good. On a cloudy or rainy day, (unlike these cobra rs) the metal would look worn, not shiny, flat, "off" etc. i have pics i could dig up if your interested.
