A couple of years ago I talked my wife into this 95 Mustang GT convertible. Honestly, I have always loved the 94-98 Mustangs, so She seemed onboard with the idea. Well, I had a 71 Torino I was thrashing on for HOT Rod Power tour and this car (the 95 GT) sort got pushed into the trees for a while. Huge mistake. I plan on restoring this car for her and will have a ton of questions along the way, as I know there are ways to liven up this car without taking away from its originality, so I do hope to find a lot of advice here! I am documenting the build on YouTube and would love to share the journey with everyone here, your support would mean the world to me and my family, and hope to get to know like minded people here along the way! Hope you enjoy!

Here's the video of my kids and I power washing our crusty little Mustang! I'm a little further along at this point, but I do have a question.

1. are the 04 convertible front seat belts a good upgrade? Can that be done? For whatever reason, the belts in this car feel smoked.

Thanks!

I got the mustang in the shop, but let me tell you, there was more wildlife in the car than I expected. All i can say is... I hate bugs! Thanks for the support on the build, we really enjoy sharing it with you guys here!

it is actually a quality alarm unit. Looks like they used a military splice where they just stripped the wire, poked it through and then wrapped it around it? It is hard to believe but back when these cars were new that is how some of the manf trained us to install them. There are advantages/disadvantages to each style honestly but it looks like it could have been a cleaner install. It takes a well trained alarm installer to be able to keep them clean looking as there are just so many wires you need to get into so many different areas.

You can fill the holes in the dash from the switches/led with out too much trouble.

For sure, as I used to do some basic stereo installs back in my younger days. I think what surprises me though is even a quality installation gets rather invasive to a car's harness. If I think back on it I do remember Viper alarms being highly revered.

I finally tackled the double DIN stereo upgrade, mostly because I had the parts to do it, and the previous owner hacked apart most, if not all of the wiring (even to the clock), and the bezel pretty badly. This is the first part of that video, with the second coming shortly. It's funny how badly wiring can get from "upgrades" LOL

Here's the part 2, sort of final notes in the double din stereo install. I have finished the rust repair under the rear seat and will be moving onto the body work on this car, just wrapping up a few other things now, but staying on it! I had to help out my mother in-law with her CRV wreck, that was a mess. Anywho... here's the recent installation, and I do want to say thanks as always to this community for your help along the way, its a blast sharing these episodes with you!
