Hello everyone, My name is Jose. I am new to this forum. I appreciate everyone's help in finding a solution to my issue.
Hello everyone, just when I thought I could finally drive my car now, it unleashes a new noise. Its a 94 GT, manual transmission.
Yesterday when I took it out for a test drive, it developed a loud noise that sounds like rubber against rubber or rubber against metal. It would get increasingly louder the more I accelerated while in gear. The moment I let of the gas the noise stops, however the moment I add the slightest bit of gas the noise begins. There is no noise at idle.
I also did notice a vibration in the car and steering wheel the higher the rpms went. This seems unnatural.
In order to try to diagnose it myself. I put the rear on jack stands, put the car in 1st gear and let the wheels spin, no noise. I then shifted to 2nd gear and also no noise, not even accelerating. The noise seems to happen when the car is under heavier load.
I did replace the flywheel and clutch some time ago but never got any of this noise until now.
So far what comes to mind is:
Failing harmonic balancer
Throw out bearing- but symptoms dont match and its a new TOB
Failing belt tensioner- but would expect noise even at idle.
Not sure. Need opinions. I am going to try to get sound bite for everyone soon for more focus on the problem. I appreciate the feedback.
