Yep, that'll cause an issue. Also, the vacuum is ported, so just find on on the manifold for the FPR. The readings you show are normal for stock.

You are going to need to replace the o-rings. I'm surprised it didn't leak just during the testing.

Make sure they are Viton o-rings. Most other material types will corrosively break down under exposure to hydrocarbons (fuels). Amazon carries them.

I would replace them but I’m not going to be using it anymore. So….

ANYONE NEED/WANT A AEROMOTIVE
FPR??

You're overthinking this I think.

~38-39psi at idle, with the vacuum line unhooked is what a stock unit is going to put out.

Slap the gauge on your car with the Aeromotive, and see what it is at idle with the vacuum line out.
FWIW, the AeroMotive vacuum line was not connected.

that one wire is not frayed it is just broken
Probably happened a while back when I had that rat problem. And since this is the first time I’ve ever removed the gauge, I hadn’t noticed it before.

How do I fix it?? Are we talking whole new harness? Or splice and dice??

That part is up to you.
Any recommendations on the full harness? Which to consider and which to avoid? Meantime, I’ll poke around the Interweb and see if a stock or Fird Performance exists.

this is not the place for a crimp connection. Solder with marine grade heat shrink is my recommendation but I know others that do not like soldering under the hood.

They are EV1 injectors and you should be able to get them "stand-alone" or with a pigtail to make it easy to repair. In your case, I'd do a pigtail so you have a good lead to work with. I checked my stash and don't have any for you. LMR has https://lmr.com/item/LRS-4411AK/ev1-fuel-injector-pigtail-kit and also get https://lmr.com/item/LRS-SK1-K/Mustang-Fuel-Injector-O-Rings-Set-86-04 Most of it is just time/patience.

You can do a full harness from Painless, but that's overkill unless you have lots of frayed/broken wires. Plus, it's a lot more $$$. Too bad you weren't closer, right up my alley!

Thx very much, Weendoggy! Wanted to also ask The Forum about the vacuum line that needs to come off of the new FPR. Do I just need a T to splice it in ? And what vacuum line would be best?

Cheers and thanks once again!

The vacuum line from the regulator runs to a vac tee nipple on the upper intake, right behind the throttle cable bracket. Here is a photo of the location on a stock upper intake, cobra upper should be the same.

I always run a dedicated vac line to the FPR.
1/8" from FPR to intake. It doesn't matter where on the intake it comes from as long as it's post TB.

You like these sweet iPhone pictures of a screen?

Anyways, that circled line should be your FPR vacuum line. The Aeromotive vacuum line is down on the side of the unit so you may not have noticed it when you were taking it off. But regardless that line should be hooked to the top of the FPR.

As far as your injector wires, grab a fuel injector pigtail from an auto parts store and solder it together. You might see some folks who don’t like soldering on automotive wiring buuuutttt that’s generally for sensitive sensors. It’ll be the right fix in this case. Easy peezy, no need to hunt down a new harness.

The lower side-shooter vac nipple on the AeroMotive had nothing attached to it. So where do you recommend I attach the stock top-center upward facing vac nipple to?

The vacuum line circled in your picture is what should be running to your FPR

Ohhhhhh! I thought he had intended to circle the FPR! WOW, that’s a very short distance. I’ll check it out when I get back home late Thursday afternoon. Thx for clarifying it first me. I kinda feel like an idiot for not seeing it right off, but I get it now.

that almost looks like the line that is currently going to the vac tree on the drivers side? That is supposed to go to the port under the intake on the drivers side on the bottom that is PIA to get to. The vac line for the fpr is supposed to go there.

What ttocs said is true. Use a mirror to find/locate it and you'll know what to do. Ford's better idea.
