Traded the yellow car for this last night:

1999 Cobra Convertible with 181k on it. Paint is rough in several spots. Needs a new top. Pretty much stock aside from shorties and a "muffler delete". ( :deeplist: )

Plans are:

  • Save for a bottom end rebuild. It's time with the miles and it will give me peace of mind. I'm looking at options right now as to the cost of doing forged rods and pistons. (Might as well)
  • New top
  • H&R Springs
  • 18x9 18x10 wheels.
  • LTs and Xpipe while the motor is out
  • Catback
  • New paint
  • 03 Cobra rear bumper
  • Freshen up the IRS

Awesome! I love me some teksid! There's a lot of potential with these. If you really want to dive in, when you're doing the rebuild, get a set of the revised C heads for the 05 aviator, like I bought for the white cobra. I orderd them from local the ford dealer. I was able to recover about a third of what I paid by selling the old heads on craigslist.

The 99-01 cobras had the aluminum teskid blocks? Wow, I learn something new everyday here.

No, just the 99. Some people say a few number of the early 01 builds had them, but I haven't found any definitive proof of that.

Congrats I just got me a 99 cobra vert myself. Keep us updated my build thread is going to be a couple years before I can do anything to it. Money is tight but I have it and going to enjoy it.
