Retired Ford Engineering. 31 years, most of it directly or indirectly working with Powertrain Electronic Controls (EEC-I, EEC-II, EEC-III, EEC-IV, EEC-V ... I have forgotten what the called it after that). Retired for 20 year (come Feb 2027). I wrote some of the software that went into every car with an EEC. Todays current systems, point back to some code I helped write. Even after that, I was with the team that choose and launched PowerPC into Powertrain Electronics.

Don't ask me specific questions about specific models/engine/years because the past is just a blur.

welcome
iv been at some dealerships myself, good to hear from another ford tech
I worked in Engineering. I actually worked in several different buildings around the Dearborn area (and a few year out at Livonia Transmission). The building I worked in the longest is called the Ford Engineering Laboratory (although is has had several name over its life). The building was the first dedicated engineering building that Henry built. It was expanded upon several times.

This is what original building looks like inside (current just the from 1/3 of the building). The big glass skylights were for natural light. They did open for ventilation. That big open "lobby" was actually covered, wall to wall with drafting boards.
