Thanks. Will definitely post pics. It's a dark red/candy apple maybe? I don't think it's the factory color. Tan top and tan interior. 5.0 automatic cause wife has to drive it too. Has an exhaust but other than that think it's all stock, including wheels. Looking for tires and wheels now...lol

Could be but seems slightly more orangish. I'll have to get a small thing of touch up to compare once I get the car cause there are a few spots that need touched up anyway

Welcome and definitely post pics!

Watch out for them rear fenders and wide wheels. The fender lips will eat the tires. A good fender roller along with elbow grease will take care of the problem.

Been there done that...lol. But not planning on squeezing that much tire under it.

Previous cars were a 1970 Olds W31 that I bought in 1988 and sold in 1991. Also had a 1966 Chevy II but only drove it once then tore it apart to build a full tube chassis car but never finished it. 1969 Chevelle 454 that ran 11.69 @ 116. My last one was a '57 Chevy with a small block 393 that dyno'd at 552HP at 6500 RPM. Also had a 1988 Monte Carlo SS, 1970 Monte Carlo and a few others. After I sold the '57 in 2003 (a guy in Sweden bought it) we started focusing on our kids sports then after they were in college we bought our first boat in 2015. We are on our 2nd boat now but wife wanted a convertible. I told her we have a convertible sitting at the marina but she wouldn't go for that..lol.
TBH I'm not a Ford guy. I have had major issues with almost every Ford I have ever owned and swore after my last one I would never buy another one (back in 1998) but here we are...lol. When I say major...2 of the 5 needed new engines before 40,000 miles and one needed a new engine by 70,000 miles...lol. These were regular cars, not racers or hot rods. The 70,000 mile one was a 1996 Windstar mini van. The other 2 were a 1990 F150 5.0 and the other a 1994 F250 with a 460.
So I know very little about Fords or Mustangs so will need quite a bit of help along the way...lol

Welcome. Good foundation for a hot rod! If it were mine, I’d be thinking stock Gen 2 Coyote with the 6 speed auto. Power it with the factory Coyote ECU to cut down on costs and enjoy very reliable power. Have your cake and the wife could enjoy it too!

So today my wife pulled out the owners manual booklet and there was a receipt in there foe a trans rebuild. It was rebuilt in 2018 with 53,000 miles on it. Cost was just over $2000. Car has 65,000 miles on it now.
In one sense it's good to know it has a fresh trans with only 12,000 miles on it but on the other hand, why did it need rebuilt at 53,000 miles...lol.
Think I'm gonna do a shift kit this winter
