If you are autocrossing the car, a staggered setup is not ideal. It adds understeer to a car that already has understeer.
We are going to use it to help teach the kid how to autocross and so he can get some seat time until the track car is completed however it will be more just his daily driver, so he does not have to drive the diesel truck daily. He likes the look of the staggered setup so that's what we went with. IF he does end up using this car for auto-x more than we planned, we will get some race rubber and use the old wheels to put 275's on all 4 corners. The new wheels do look pretty good on it.

Spent the last couple days wet sanding and buffing, only LF fender and front bumper. left to complete. The kid also learned how to design graphics and use the vinyl cutter and put some decals on the car. He also decided to ditch all the old junk carpet in the truck and just paint it.

Well today I finally finished wet sanding and buffing. There is a few areas I need to go back over later but we will do that at a later time. We got all the lights back in it along with the hood bolted back on and the kid got all his decals cut and installed.

This weekend I was going to try and get the keyless entry and the rest of the Mach 460 installed however the boy had different plans for me. He decided to buy a new head unit that had apple car play and that has a screen that is WAY too big for the dash. I decided if we are going this far with the stereo then maybe we should add a sub and make it sound decent. I was able to find a nice 12" JBL sub in a box on Facebook Marketplace for $50 and I ordered a small 4 channel amp off Amazon. So I was able to get all the old wiring pulled out and the new head unit wired up, amp installed to the Mack 460 rear box. The Amp is running the rear speakers off 2 channels and the other 2 are bridged to run the sub. The door speakers are just running off the head unit. For minimal investment it actually sounds really good and has just enough bass without being obnoxious. This week i just need to finish up the wiring runs and put it all back together. I also need to move the climate controls down to where the cubby hole is so they are not hidden behind the screen.

1. Head Unit with Apple Car Play = $150

2. Subwoofer = $50

3. Amplifier and amp install kit = $100

Total for all these items = $300 We are now $3373 into this project

2 years later.....

.....Total project cost $13,373

I kid you man! We get wild hairs and think big sometimes.

I like what you got going on tho
LOL yes! you are 100% correct. It is already WAY over budget. I was trying to get him to stick to around 3K all in, that did not last long.

Thank You. For him painting his first time and considering he had around $500 in the whole thing I think it came out pretty good. It does have its flaws but for what it is and what he has in it, it is good enough.

It is sharp, for 3400 it's a slick ride so far

We finally was able to get the stereo all installed and working. I have to say for the $300 ish bucks he has in the complete setup, it sounds really good without all the boom boom rattling everything obnoxious bass.

We installed all the Mach 460 speakers in the doors and rear package tray. The door speakers are powered off the head unit. The tweeters in the rear tray are powered by the head unit. The large speakers in the tray and the one sub is powered by the amp we got off Amazon. Plus installed the head unit that is in the way of shifting and makes it hard to change the HVAC controls

You powered the REAR speakers off the amp?
Yes! The cheap amp he bought is a 4 channel amp with 2 channels going to the rear speakers on the package tray box and the other 2 channels are bridged to the sub.
