Yea dude, theyll be way too big. 285's will look narrow for the height of the wheel and the sidewall will be like rubber bands. With the stock brakes it'll look horrible, and lets not even say anything if youre not dropped.

point. after seeing a few cars in person today im goin 245/25/19 in front .cant decide between 265/35/19
and 275/30/19. anyone have some advice??

like I said, 19's will look ghetto on a 94-98. Nobody is telling you not to get them - it's your $$. Your car may not look ghetto now, but it will. :nonono:

thanks for the advice guys.
i dont think it will look that gettho.
take a look at this guys car. looks alright.
http://www.oghabib.com/index2.htm

i decided against 275/30/19
because it has a really small sidewall (3.24) ... looks bad

the guys on the site above has 285/30/19 on 19x9.5 rear rim
this is not recommended but works fine for him.
this tire recommend for 10 to 11.5 wide rims.
but i dont wanna go 19x10 in the back

285/30/19 has a sidewall of 3.36 just like the front tire
that i want ( 245/35/19 with sidewall of 3.37)

my other option is 265/35/19 which is a rare tire.
(only michelin, pirelli,bridgestone)
it has sidewall of 3.65 (compared to 3.36)but will be 10mm (0.4 inches)
less wide then the 285.

help me decide
265/35/19 or 285/30/19

Tires look tiny in that pic, personally I think 19's are to big proportionally unless you have a body kit to make the side of the car taller. the saleen in that pic, too big IMO. but, it's your car so whatever you like.

On the tire, wider is better, just dont get them too short. 30mm tall is pushin it.
I run a 295/35/18's on my rears

If you want I can chop the wheels on your car to see?

I would go with the 295. However In my opinion the 19 inchers will be too big. I would also go with 18s.

yo matt,
you and i think alike. i really want to get some saleens with 18's upfront, and 19's out back.
its like noone here realizes that the rear fenderwells look bigger than the front fenderwells
and that they subsequently require more rim.

i like the rims you have chosen, they are much different and we should thank you for not
getting the faleens/fobras like so many others are running (including myself).

just out of curiousity how much per rim? i didnt see pricing on their website
oh and thanks for that link you sent with that black mustang i really like the way its put together

please post some pics!

I used to have cobra Rs but got sick of everyone having them, plus I was tired of them since they were polished so I wanted chrome. I paied like $230 a rim or somthing like that with shipping.

I thought about getting 19's but the cost and the fact that i'd have less tire to protect them from the NJ roads swayed me towards some cheap 18's instead of the 19" RacingHart C5's i really wanted.

Don't hit any potholes with wheels that big and tires that small. :noes: My sister had really low profile tires on her car and she poped her tire and cracked the rim when she hit a hole doing 50mph. 35 is the lowest profile I would go on a street car and even then thats pushing it.
