Just joined the forum (yes I posted in the introductions).
I have a '95 GT convertible and in the middle of a tune up. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor and setting timing. I decided to remove the smog crap from the passenger side since the pump is garbage anyway and the PO had removed the cats and capped the pipe leading to them.
Question, do I need to cap off the couple vacuum lines that led the the smog stuff?
Also, the vacuumed line for the purge valve have rotted, what size are those and how hard to replace it? I know the one end connects the the underside of the intake upper. Will it have to be removed to replace the line?

While working on the car today I managed to break one of the ports off of the purge valve. Ugh! The plastic was very brittle. Time to replace that now.
Also, the valve has 2 vacuum lines (inlet and outlet) one side goes to the intake manifold, where does the other end go? I can't quite see where it ends near the corner of the inner fender and firewall.

Well that looks like a real pain to get to. Can it be accessed through the plastic fender liner?

it is a pain to get to no matter which way you go about it. I find wrestling the fender liner in/out to be fairly frustrating and after that it will leave limited access in an uncomfortable position.

That being said ttocs, is there a better way?
I don't see getting my big paw in there from under the hood. Lol. I will also have to replace the purge valve since on of the plastic connections broke off.

^ I'd take the fender off so you have ample room to work. It doesn't take that much time to remove. Mark where it lines up now and you'll be fine. Not worth fighting for space to work. You'll be glad you did.

The other option is to take the fender off, which means you also have to take the bumper off or at least loosen it on that side so you can pull it up. Then you have all the room in the world, but it is still a bit of a hassle to get there.

So choice #1 is still a good bit of a hassle that will leave you with a light crouching under the fender to try and see everything.
choice #2 is still a good bit of hassle but you can see everything just sitting next to it.

Most people just rip it out and plug the lines assuming you do not have inspections that would actually look

No inspections here. Will it trigger an engine light if it's deleted?
Honestly I'd like to clean up the engine bay some so if I can remove unwanted clutter that would be great.

If you remove the liner you can manage. A lot better than potentially scratching your fender

More than likely yes, it will trigger a CEL, whether it's DEL or leaking.
