The PO had a short belt cancelling out smog pump but Egr was causing pinging and poor performance.The car had a cel light when applying throttle or the revs were sticking when turning on the car. I replaced the Iac, tps, and cleaned the maf. After doing all of this the car exhaust developed a different exhaust note. It has a popping sound to it. The car does not have cat and is using 2 chamber flomasters. Could it be the timing? Right now the Car does not have any cel light now.
Is it popping on deceleration? Like a gurgle? Don't sweat that....its just a lean condition when you're OFF the throttle....LEAN AT IDLE or OFF THROTTLE IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT
Well your right the car was running lean. The cel came on and all hell broke loose. It seems that my fuel pump was going bad and finally crapped out on me as I made it at he shop. We pulled some codes(172, 176, 332,etc..) not sure what they are! Mechanic said to fix the fuel pump and them reset computer and run the test again>
