1995 Cobra. My shifter bezel (plastic part around the shifter that attaches to the leather boot and center console) creaks something fierce. I’d really love to eliminate the noise or at least make it tolerable. I can’t be the only one. Has anybody found a way to successfully get this specific piece to be quiet? All of the clips where it attaches to the center console are in place, and it locks in as tight as it should be. It’s just…plastic on plastic creaking at an almost comical level when the car is moving at any speed.
In the past, I’ve had mixed results by shoving paper towels into spaces, tape, felt, or lubrication but just looking at this piece I have my doubts that any of those Mickey Mouse hack-methods will prove effective.
I know these cars are known for this sort of thing, but my Cobra is low-mile and fairly tight inside still, so this noise really stands out.
