I have a 1996 Mustang GT 5 speed manual and I have compiled my dyno charts from the different engine mods I have done. It's really interesting to see how each set up changed power levels and the RPM range that it made power. Hopefully you can follow along with my color coding.

First was non-pi with long tube headers, JLT cold air and BBK 78mm throttle body. It actually did close to stock numbers.
My numbers (pencil lines)
Power: 193 hp @ 4500rpm
Torque: 263 lb-ft @3300rpm

Stock rated at
Power: 215 hp @ 4400 rpm
Torque: 285 lb-ft @ 3500 rpm
As I look at the chart, hp starts diving after 5000rpm. When I took the car to the track, after 5000rpm it didn't pull very hard and now looking at the dyno numbers, that make perfect sense. If you drag race, shift at 5000rpm.

Then I did the PI head swap (still long tubes, JLT cold air and BBK TB) (Blue highlighter) (rpm range on dyno chart is small. I don't think the operator set it up properly lol)
Power: 240 hp @ 4900rpm
Torque: 285 lb-ft @ 3950rpm
I could really feel hp come on after 4000rpm. More power everywhere and a wicked high compression engine sound.

Then I ran it on nitrous and a 100 shot picked up exactly 100hp and 170 ft-lb of torque. I also had a nitrous back fire which blew apart the plastic intake manifold. After that incident, I installed the Edelbrock Victor Jr. single plane EFI manifold and 92mm throttle body (yellow highlighter)
Power: 265 hp @ 5250rpm
Torque: 278 lb-ft @ 4200rpm
With the Vic Jr intake it pulls so hard all the way to redline. Everyone says that it kills torque down low but it does has more torque compared to the non-pi set up.

It’s nice seeing real world results. Are you interested in doing any more testing with other setups?
