What hei are you intending to use. Or have, if gm style , it just needs an ignition powered 12v lead my personal choice for a street / performance. I like to use the duraspark. Upgrade to a melonized or steel gear, do a recurve or look on you tube for locking the distributor out, drive it with a msd or similar cd multispark box. The internal module of the duraspark is the same as msd

I went with a single wire HEI from CJ Pony parts. I also had to buy a brass gear for it since I have roller cams.

What roller cam are you using? Most of the SBF rollers needed a steel gear on the distributor. At least both of mine did, Comp and Crane. I'd check with the cam manufacturer.

Ford performance roller cam with COBRA heads from a 94. I thought the steel gear on the distributor would eat the gear on the cam. I base this on info I read on roller cams vs stock.
