Help! Car runs great, but check light comes on about 5 miles after a reset to delete code P0340. Car is late 1994 build, 1995 model year. Have checked all normal issues. Tried wiring cam sensor direct to PCM, tried a new sensor, tried a different PCM, checked camshaft timing in relation to crankshaft.
There is a camshaft sensor signal sent to the electric cooling fan control unit. Don't know why? My guess is that this could be causing the issue, but I don't have any info on this unit. Can anyone help?
The issue started when there was a genuine problem with the camshaft sensor wiring (bad connection on sensor plug). This was an easy, simple repair, and the car has run fine since. Have done thousands of miles. Easy starting and plenty of power.
