ive had this car for 6+ years and it needed paint when i got it, but im a go fast guy dont really care what it looks like. So now that the car i where i want it motor and suspension wise i went ahead and painted the car. I have a good friend of mine that paints as a hobby and we did most of the work at home and rented a booth to spray the color.

I now have new found respect for paint and body guys!!  i lost track on the hours and hours spent sanding and blocking and more wet sanding and guide coat sanding............ tons of work..

That looks absolutly incredible Alex!! The gold makes the paint look awesome. Are you going to do the roof in black again or leave it? Either way it looks KILLER. A+++

As much as work as you have in it - I'd take the wet sanding up to 2000 then 2500 for a final - it'll drastically cut down your cutting time and give you damn near glass reflection.

It's not a mustang - but here's my LS I took all the way up to 2500 and you can tell it really paid off to put in the extra sanding time.

I'd start with 1500 dry on a DA and finish with 3000 wet on a DA. Both with a soft pad interface. You'll go through probably 3 boxes of 1500 and a box of 3000. You'll get a nice finish and the 3000 will buff out easily. That's what we do at work and I'd put it up against any other post-paint finishing out there. It goes fast with the use of a DA also.

Should have gone orange flavor instead of banana. But banana alright too.

Just gets better and better! Amazing car man. Im thinking of wetsanding my car. It has orange peal from when it got painted last summer. Any plans on the hood? I seems odd with that black vent lol.
