How hard did you pull it up? The harder you pull up and leave it you have to pull up even harder to release the button into the handle. There's only a couple of places for it to bind; cables and the springs on the calipers I'm the rear. I just took my center console out last week... I know your pain.

Had the same problem on my '00 when I removed the console, didn't think I'd get that damn brake lever to release, lol.

Pull up while trying to push the button.

And if you can't get enough leverage try doing it from the back seat.

you just gotta turn into the hulk and rip that son of a gun up while pushing the button and as soon as you get the button pressed let it down.

Ok I'll try that tomorrow morning when I get home from work I'll post pictures when I get up for work in a couple hours. I was wondering if one or more of the brakes/wheels might be seized/locked up it was sitting up 6 month's or more according to the guy I bought it from.

Suck it up cupcake and pull up on the handle.
Everything looks normal in the pics.
Even if the brakes or the cables were locked up the handle should still come down.
