I was playing around and stumbled onto this. It's long, and it's not a mustang. But still found it very informative for myself possibly anyone wanting to at least do the intake swap.
And he's a bit boring...but all in all, a video how to. Granted a few things won't really apply, but the big things are hit.
Just figured I'd share.

If only I could find one for the heads, at least the timing part.
That's what I'm worried about.

I'm sourcing all the hardware now. I bought some 03 heads with the cams.
Just looking at intake to head gasket.
Trick flow has a set.
But a lot of things I look at have a set of what looks like two identical.

Oh, no I already ordered the headchange kit from LRS.
It didn't have the intake manifold gaskets. And everywhere I look it just seems to be one gasket.
But I'll look at summit!

Do I have to buy a new dipstick?
I don't remember if that's a thing I need.

So far I have:
Trusty Haynes manual.
PI intake(tapped)
PI heater tube
03 PI heads/cams 71k

Ordered
PI alt bracket
PI nipple for tube
Ford Racing Headchange kit(exhaust gaskets, headbolts, rubber sleeves, Head gaskets)
New stock thermostat and O ring
New water pump O ring
New NPI timing cover gaskets(front main seal included)
New injector O rings

All I am short are the PI intake gaskets right?
I'd have to look, but I am using PI gaskets for the full swap right? That and some sealant?

I'm a bit nervous I've never dug this deep into a modular before.

Also Looking at summit, all they list is 302, 351, and 289.
Nothing for the 4.6.
This is looking for Ford Racing gaskets.
I know LRS has one..but nothing that looks for the opposite side, do I just order two?

Summit should have everything you need to do your swap, I have no issues doing my swap using them. Is you heads 2v or 3v? Only reason I'm asking the 4.6 2v is the 289 Cid. I'm doing a 5.4 2v head swap with trick flow stage 2 cams.

Its a good thing to have one when doing a head swap. They break easy and could really slow you down if you can't find one in the middle of your swap.

I went with the Lokar for 4.6's.
