I think it is easiest to pull both at the same time, because both ways in or out the engine must be tilted and the weight of the transmission helps with the "swoop" when you put it in.

Installing or removing any type of exhaust manifold with the stock K-member sucks with a modular engine! Leave them on!

is that transmission an automatic on that engine
I might be wrong but Romeo engines are with cranks for 5 speed manual

so putting headers on my 4V 98 is a pain in the dick?
because I was thinking about kooks long tubes and that stupid IMRC delete and having it tuned...
That was one reason I went with JBA shorty's
And for IMRC I got the deletes when I installed the supercharger , Kenny bell wrote the tune for it
it made life easier

Yes pain in the dick with the stock K-member. Headers are a pain any way you go about it, but a real pain in the dick with the stock k-member. Most headers require removal of the steering shaft which further complicates the install and the huge factory k-member shields easy accessibility.
