I think it is easiest to pull both at the same time, because both ways in or out the engine must be tilted and the weight of the transmission helps with the "swoop" when you put it in.

Yes pain in the dick with the stock K-member. Headers are a pain any way you go about it, but a real pain in the dick with the stock k-member. Most headers require removal of the steering shaft which further complicates the install and the huge factory k-member shields easy accessibility.so putting headers on my 4V 98 is a pain in the dick?
