Do most people get a longer belt after they do a PI swap?

On my car i retained the NPI Alternator and Timing cover i had initially before anything. So my question is

With the bigger heads/intake etc it has lifted the alternator bracket higher meaning that a stock length belt is stretching in theory. When i have the AC on it yanks the engine when it kicks on.

Should i look into maybe a stock length +1inch or something?

I'm probably just crazy

Im thinking ...crazy....lol

I cant see why a longer belt would be needed. Your using all the old covers, the heads bolt up the same, all the accessories bolt on the same.

If you are having trouble, the belt tentioner would be max travel trying to get the belt on. So...yea sure ...1" longer is a good start.

I reused everything, if there is a difference the tensioner should adjust enough to compensate.
