I'm pretty sure if you get the weight of the hood close when you pick the donor car it'll be no problem. Was going to use 2000 Taurus struts then found these which were longer. They're off a 2001 Lincoln LS and I used 2 pair of bottom pivot balls so I had 4 with threads on them. Turned out great. [/COLOR][COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961)]Closer pic...

thanks man! this definitely beats paying $80+ for a kit... plus its more fun to make your own. Ill be looking for a set next time i go to the yard

Yea, those should work fine. The main thing to do is get 4 of the bottom pivots so you can put a nut on the top ones unless you'll be welding parts.

Yeah i got those. Only strut one tho . Most were broken. . Need to take another trip. .
