anyone have before flow numbers on stock nPI heads?
looks good though.
Stock flow numbers out of the 4.6 Max Performance book by Sean Hyland. I also have the flow numbers for P.I. heads and the SVO heads. If you want me to the post those I will if you ask.
Intake CFM Exhaust CFM
.050" 25 .050" 22
.100" 47 .100" 40
.150" 64 .150" 60
.200" 83 .200" 80
.250" 99 .250" 96
.300" 114 .300" 108
.350" 125 .350" 112
.400" 136 .400" 115
.450" 147 .450" 116
.500" 156 .500" 117
.550" 163 .550" 117
.600" 166 .600" 117
Wow, those numbers SUCK! I was thinkin that the flow numbers on the Steen heads would be better than that, but seeing the stock numbers I'm now very happy!
that exhausts s pathetic
how much did the P&P cost again?
lol, yes. your numbers are much better now
Steen could have hogged them out and made them flow 230cfm but that doesn't always = power. Jason has alot of knowledge and i guarantee those heads will work great, look at the improvement in the exhaust #'s...thats whats important when working the NPI heads.
Your flow #'s are about equal to a stage 1 PI head but without the raised compression.
That's exactly what I wanted. A nice street port, without having to bump my compression ratio. imp2:
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, but the heads are going in soon! :dancing6:

Well, turns out that Steen sent me the heads without rollers or lifters. The shop that's doing the work had to take the heads apart, and put all that stuff on from the heads they took out before they could install em. I'm gonna be on the horn first thing tomorrow morning with Jason to find out what the hell happened with that!
Did you ask & pay for new lifters and followers? They usually don't come free with a set of P&P'd heads...you use the ones from your old heads.
Yeah, they hit me with that this morning. Damnit, why do I always find these things out AFTER the parts are paid for? :nonono:
haha you have to make a list of questions before you order so you don't forget to ask anything...but as far as i know nobody includes that.
Cool, I'll know better next time. Anyways, anyone care to take a stab at what kinda numbers I might make? Here's the mod list:
Accufab 75MM TB
Steen Racing Heads
Comp XE270AH cams
MAC O/R Prochamber
Stage II Procharger(8-10PSI kit)
I'm thinkin about 380 to the wheels? :dunno:
You should be able to do that easily on 10psi...
I'm not so convinced, but we'll see...
Look at 97BlownStanger, he put down @320-330rwhp with 10psi through the stock NPI intake/cams/heads...
you will get atleast 30 from the intake and another 30 from the cams and probably atleast another 20 from the head work.
it's because the h/c/i flow so much better.
Well my Steen racing NPI heads are now in, and those XE270AHs sound awesome! That Livernois PI kit went on pretty smoothly as well. Damn what a difference, I can't believe I waited this long to get that stock NPI crap outta there....... :nonono:
Did you get it tuned and dyno'd yet?
Nope, cause the Procharger went on as well. I'm running the FMU it came with for now, but I'll be switching to VMP's 05 style maf kit and 42pounders in the next couple weeks. Then I'll get her tuned. Think I'll gain much HP afterwards?
I wouldn't even drive it until it was dyno tuned.
