I discovered that they made a small jump park/line at my local fav trail recently which is as close as I have ever got to a bmx track. After taking a fall on the smallest little jump that blew out my shoulder for 9 months last year I looked at that line and thought I would need to get better insurance and have a friend with 911 dialed ready to push send before I try it.....

Speed can outweigh ability deceivingly quickly. We’ve all been there.

Like most things, the Dunning-Krueger effect also applies to BMX. You think you’re in the groove of things and all of the sudden you’re halfway into a bank realizing your lean angle isn’t matched for your speed.

I miss all that. I raced BMX when I was a kid. Loved it. I won a few trophies too!

I use to give myself a good scare on my mountain bike fairly regularly. While I miss it, last year really hurt a lot...... time to slow down.

OMG same generation of it and everything. Mine was all chrome. Boss 3 pc cranks, lightweight rims, Haro knee-saver handlebars, and a rainbow colored chain (long before they stole the rainbow) :D

I got to take this down the track a few times last night. Normally I wouldn’t try a bike I can’t afford for fear of dumping it but he insisted. So I took a few laps at like 50-75%. Such an awesome bike. Not too often the chance comes along to ride a $2,500 bike.

Installed my qa1 double adjustables got them off a good friend of mine who went to inboard double adjustable coilovers

Excuse my my dirty car haven’t cleaned the underside since the drag and drive I did last week we got caught in two crazy rain storms . Next year I won’t run Hoosier dr2’s for the drive portion lol also forgot to grab my wiper arms before we left so that was fun . ab5e01f1c4309368d6d7b2fbf4f39aaf.jpeg

I am not sure why it has always amazed me how much different bikes can feel but it has. Little adjustments to the head angle and make a huge difference. My old cannondale jekyll I could adjust the angle and it was night and day difference going from one to the other. My new trek also has an adjustment but it didn't seem to change as much as the cannondale did.

is CF used much in BMX bikes? With as popular as it became in mountain bikes I am almost surprised to see high end bikes still in aluminum.

Carbon fiber is definitely where it’s at now. I think that came from road bikes.

The thing is that two similar frames, one in carbon fiber and one in aluminum, are going to weigh marginally different. Perhaps what would be more noticeable would be the rigidity. With that being said, the guys at the higher levels would kill to shave another half pound off their bike or get that extra smidge of rigidity.
