Another neglected GT. My wife brings home foster dogs, I bring home abused cars. 99 GT with a laundry list of issues. Front crash damage, interior MIA, leaking coolant, clear coat has left the chat, etc. Bought it from parts, may decide to waste a ton of money and bring her back from the brink. Late night hustle load in a sketchy area, lol. #staystrappedorgetclapped

Love restoring cars, but when body work and paint are needed I avoid it like the plague. Just an expensive and time consuming head ache. Which means I should probably start learning body work. Especially since more and more these cars are like that.

Same here. Every ad that says, "Just needs paint" and it's still priced at $6k plus, yeah fuck off.
I was searching for a set of starfish wheels on offer up (around 200-400 with tires in my area) and this thing popped up. Posted at $1k and got it for $500. Had the starfish wheels with thick tread Continental tires, Airad CAI, X4 tuner, 3.73 gears, Terminator front bumper, BBk cated x pipe and tokico d Spec with coilovers and tokico blues in the trunk that I found this morning. I figure it can easily pay itself off with the parts alone and then I can build a second chassis for track driving worst case.

I would rather see connecting rod left block than needs paint

Hell, sent mine in for the top replacement and a little bit of touch ups paint and body wise. I'm at just over 4600 now lol. Hood is carbon fiber, painted because clear coat failed. They found this when they pulled the scoop to refinish it.

And Christmas bonus is gone, lol. Bought another car. 01 GT with blown motor. Will get the motor from the first car. This one has BC Coilovers, long tubes, x pipe, possibly magnaflow cat back, BMR control arms front and rear, Eibach roll bars, some bucket seats, BBK throttle plenum, K&N intake.
I'm officially deleting Offer Up from my phone

That stinks. Still better than needing a paint job!!! Paint jail sucks.

Just out of curiosity, what is insurance running for kids these days? I have read about some horror stories and wondered if they are true as I have watched my neighbors kid wreck 6 cars/trucks(not low end ford/chevy either) in 4 years and I have been wondering how many thousands per year his insurance must be now?

It is retarded. I have my Mustangs on separate insurance ever since we added my daughter a couple years ago to our policy.

especially out in gilbert with the theft rates, uninsured motorists and other things you get to deal with(glass break insurance) I can only imagine. I thought my insurance was a little crazy when I moved out there in 2000 at the age of 25 I am really afraid to know what it costs to put a kid behind the wheel even if they never have an accident....

$1000 increase for 6 months. And that is with just three commuter cars on the policy. 16 year old boy with zero driving history. The only way I could convince my wife to let him have a Mustang is by letting him drive "one of mine" lol.

Mine doubled when I added my son last month. I have the Mustang on a Hagerty policy so that's not too bad but it's ~2800 every 6 months now for the wife and I with a 16 year old and 3 daily driver cars.
