Here is my trunk setup just one 12 and a 5 ch all paneled in. IM almost done with the rest of the trunk as im making a deck lid cover with a 7"screen.

How did you mount that trim panel in the trunk?? I like that setup alot!!

air nails to the box and the trim panels we just made to fit the stock trunk panels i like to use cardboard cause if you cut to much off you can add more with tape then after you get the cardboard the way to like it copy it to MDF and wrap it in what you want

Dang! As anal as I am about saving weight, I could never put a good system in my GT - even though I'd love bettr sound.

Anyone know what the best replacement speakrs are for the stock Mach 460 system? Where can you buy new Mach 460 head units (tape deck and CD)?

I had an expensive Kenwood cd player, but the dang thing kept draining my battery if I left the car sitting for two or three days.

Put a blower on, lol....at that point you will be glad you have an extra 60-70 pounds in your trunk for traction.

I built both systems 100% on my own outta my garage so if anyone has questoins I would be more then happy to answer them. I took build pics during teh process on most of the projects.

your first layer should have been much thicker man, I see way too much foil on there. Do not even thing about pulling it out until you add a few layers there...

Here is the start of my glass project....

Looking good i did an 98 vert at work about 2 weeks ago with two Image ID8s in the 1/4 like your doing and it sounded great and total the box and sub was around 20 lbs so 40 lbs in subs is not that bad and it was pretty loud for 8's.

I'm alittle farther now but not too much.... I was thinking of going with a different woofer so I've been dragging my feet......

I was also struck with the idea of running 2 10's in this enclosure as I have enough airspace......

So this has turned into the never-ending install hasn't it...........


-Laid in sound deadner
-Laid down about 4 layers (chop/mesh/chop/mesh), built the frame/position rings and wrapped/resinated the front to my enclosure....

For some odd reason, I didn't take pix of the frame building as I was just in the zone..... :BangHead:

But here's where I'm at as of tonight.....

Next I'll get to hittin this with some layers front to back another 6 times or so.................

I still have some work to do as far as making it pretty but I think 10 layers of glass should do the trick..... Filler and lots of sanding is next......

Only pic i have right now. amp is mounted behind the seat. the back of the box sits flush with the trunk opening.. ill post some more pics of the whole setup when i get home..
