Will bad gas make your numbers suffer? I don't mean the gas that sits in your tank for 5 months. I mean like at the gas station, do you choose the highest octane when doing a dyno pull. I am thinking of having another pull done this spring, but I need to go through my tank first, as it has been sitting for a few months, and yes it has Sta-Bil in it. So it's not rotting!!!!
using a higher grade gas wont make any difference. It might make you feel better about it, so if you want to spend the extra $2.00 for a full tank of premium, go for it! but to get any gain from different octanes, the car has to be tuned for it.
if yours is a 5.0, you can put in some higher octane gas, turn the dizzy-cap, bump a few degrees of timing, and gain a few HP (Especially in our high altitude!) on the rollers would be a perfect time to do that for 91 gas
Old owner Dyno'd car at 298 rwhp and 306rwtq I believe. I changed exhausts since then, and thats it. Will have new numbers in June with my procharger when I install it, aiming for 430-450rwhp .
My 94 Cobra so far has seen 442.5HP @5750 and [email protected] with a 331 and 10 lb Novi, Gt-40 irons and Cobra intake, doing a few changes and gonna retune soon.... we will see, this tune is conservative and I may push it a little, could make 500+ if I want to... but wanna be "safe"
