Looking for a wiring diagram for the power outlets in my car. 95 GT. It's got one by the shifter and the ash tray option. Neither works cause the shifter one was cut into and I can't find the wires behind it. The other is hooked up but not sure why it's not working. Thought about running new wires direct to the fuse box.

checked any fuses? If no, then no I do not know which one. When I suspect a bad fuse I just start pulling/checking fuses till I have checked them all or if I find a bad one. Takes less time then going to the manual and you can be sure that all the fuses are good then

One of those only works with the car on. Make sure you're checking that way

if I remember correctly the harness comes up on the drivers side of the console and then splits off to the outlet up front. The rear I think is fed by the same harness if I am not mistaken.

I know in my 99 only one outlet has power all the time, the other is key on only.

The genius who had my car before me cut the harness for both of them up pretty bad. I'm going to have to pull the console and repair it all with a donor harness. I ran a temporary direct to the cigar fuse in the box so it'll work til I can get the console out and wired back properly.

wire is wire man and there should be no reason to replace the entire harness. The ends that connect to the cig lighter is all you need to find and not hard.

It's been cut and spliced too many times. I counted at least 10 splices with extra wires coming out. Just going to eliminate all those down to 2 wires and 2 splices.

I adapted my 94 harness into a 02 console. It's really pretty simple. Just plug the stuff in, and start running wire. Both of mine are hot all the time, I didn't know one was switched. But I know mine are spliced together, I assumed thats how it was originally...Didn't look close enough then I guess

ok I will quote myself to make it easyt

ttocs;1385791]ok I understand but I will say again wire is wire is wire. yes its nice when the colors match and it can make it easy but the red wire will carry the voltage the exact same way a yelllow/pink dots on it would. The only thing to pay attention to is how thick the wire is. Its perfeclty safe to replace a section of red wire with a piece of yellow wire as long as the yellow

It's not the color, it's all the splices that are poorly done. Plus all the extra wires spliced in going to nothing.
