Power steering fluid clarification

I did a quick search looking to find what to top off my power steering fluid with in my GT. The owners manual says use mercon fluid, but some people stated elsewhere to use type F fluid. What are you guys using in your 4.6 cars?

I use the Merc V in mine.

Always used Mercon V as well. Smells horrid but works well.

I would extract all that fluid out and use some Amsoil fluid. Its superior to any mercon fluid out!

Mercon V is what Ford recommends. That's what I run in mine.
