Not plug and play but you can do the Volvo electric power steering pump. It still uses hydraulic pressure but the pump is electric. In my opinion it’s not worth it unless you coyote swap it.

Just remember the more Electronic you add the alternator will need to be upgraded on a 347

Most mustangers go manual racks! I know i want to. Get rid of the pump...its in the way

Not necessarily. EPS uses power only when active. The vast majority of the time, it's idle. Conversely, the hydraulic PS pump is *always* being driven and pumping fluid, drawing HP from the engine constantly.
Daryl: HERE is some good info on converting. I know someone undertaking it on a Foxbody. I can get you connected if you're interested.

I’ve read about people swapping those into other cars but never in a mustang. It would be pretty cool. But for the mod motor guys the Volvo esp is a better choice since the brakes work off the steering pump too. Just a little tidbit.

I just took a look at Amazon for electric power steerig. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=electric+power+steering&i=automotive&crid=2A8LEVC8OXG7C&sprefix=Electric+power,automotive,178&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_14 . It is amazing what is available. If it is tough enough for a F-150 it should be tough enough for a mustang.
