Re: Problem with my Gears?

Seems really weird. Are you sure you ordered and that they actually sent you the right gears?

he shouldn't have even had to mess with that to put in your gears...if it worked before it should work now.

What the hell? Ok so you need to find out what rear end you have and what rear end those gears came out of was. An 8.8 Rear for mustangs is an 8.8 Rear. Either he doesnt know shit or your rear or those gears are for a 7.8. Maybe even a 9 inch? Call the guy up and then take a peak at your diff cover or a picture of it an post it up so we can tell you.

Maybe he is trying to put the wrong axle back in the car. Like 5.0wned said, an 8.8 rear is an 8.8 rear. But if he is being a dumbass and trying to install a 7.5 axle in a 8.8 rear it won't work, it will be to big.

when i bought the gears it came with the posi (center part) i believe. He installed the gears with it installed so i think thats the problem. I stopped into a ring and pinion specialist today and they said for him to just take out the posi and use my old one?...idk i dont think this guy actually knows what hes doing which is really getting me worried...because theres no way im just going back to my stock 3.27's. Hopefully he does it right or else im just gonna have 2 take my car elsewhere and spend some more money

well that explains it, the posi could be for a different numbered spline axle or even a different rear...i would blame it more on you for not knowing what you are giving him than for him "not knowing what he is diong"
