Hello first off I want to share my 96 Cobra SVT. It is stock besides having a MGW short throw shifter and coilovers not sure what brand the gentleman I bought it from didn't let me know which ones they were. I want to completely rebuild this car for my first project car I want to use the 4.6L Teksid block it has, but rebuild the internals. I know I need to get a machine shop involved with the engine part and if I want to use the same cylinder heads. My question I'm trying to get answered is it worth to invest in the 03-04 Cobra C-heads or just rebuild the B-heads? I would like to get to 500-600HP for my first build keyword trying lol. Any answers would be awesome and so appreciated. I'm new to the whole project car and just trying to get a good way forward for my build. Thank you!

Awesome car! You’re starting with a great canvas.

So, for that power goal, what kind of boost are you trying to use?

For boost was thinking of a Vortech supercharger, not sure with the psi still trying to figure out the heads and block internals issue.

If you do decide to go C-heads, I have some pretty spiffy valve covers for sale if you're interested.

C-Heads will make most power for cheaper money.
So I found C-heads for sale that are by NuTech with auto zone. I know they are to OEM spec, should I rebuild the internals for those heads and save a little money or invest in better quality heads?

You car looks like a close cousin of my Laser Red 98 Cobra.
I've had mine since 2004. I ended up going with a built motor, ported B beads, and a 67mm turbo.
It's PLENTY of fun on the street.

Dang man looks so nice! I'm debating keeping it laser red just getting repainted or going a dark blue. You're making me want to keep it lazer red lol
Yeah Laser Red is a beautiful color when it is all cleaned up and out in the sun. I'm a big fan. If you DO go with E9 (Laser Red) be sure they use the tri-coat. I've seen a 2 stage version and it is darker and not nearly as appealing.


I love how discrete the turbo is. Nicely tucked away out of site and a big plus!.....low center of gravity

Thanks. I like it too. The sounds it makes gives me a stiffy every time I drive it.
It's definitely very unassuming when peeking under the hood.
