question bout a shift kit and a chip

I'm wanting to make my '94 quicker. I have exhaust on the way. I'm gonna buy a CAI too. A guy I know said that I should buy a chip. I told him I was just going to buy a shift kit. He said that a chip would change the shift points in the transmission and give more power. Is he right? Should I get the chip instead of the shift kit?

I have both and they work in harmony if tuned right.

Well a chip would help but your not going to get much in the way of HP with it now with what few mods you have. The only real advantage you would have with it is the fact that you can adjust your shift points for better acceleration.
