After i supercharge my car i am definately going to need to invest into something other than street tires...so im looking at some drag radials...i currently have 18x9 chrome saleens wrapped in Kumho Ecsta MX tires (about 3k on the tires)....i was just wondering if a lot of you just get the radials for the rear and keep street tires for the front...or do mostly everybody get all 4 tires radials?? I just figured it would save me some money to get some nitto's or bfg's for the rear and keep my fairly new kumho street tires up front considering they are still fairly new?? any comments? thanks guys...

I have been using Drag radials for about 5 years now. I use normal street tires on the front and my BFG Drag radials out back. The first set I ever got was put on my 95 GT and was 16 inch ( cant remember the exact numbers on the tires ) and then I ran them on my 91 GT on 15 inch Pro stars. And now I have them on my 99 Cobra size 295/35-18 :bunny3: :bunny3: :bunny3:. Im due for another set now and when I get them im going with the 315's......... :boink:

thats awsome to hear i only have to buy 2 for the rear!! do you think i could fit something like a 305/35/18 on my car with an eibach pro kit? that won't be too big will it?? also, i originally have 245/40 up front and 275/40 on the rear right now as the car sits with my kumhos....do you think a 245 up front and a 305 rear is too much of an offset?? they make 285/35/18 but i wanted some bigger meats...my main question is would it hurt having a 40 up front and a 35 rear?? cuz nittos dont make a 40 tire...

thanks snakebit...i still have a question though. They mention nittos run small, and they say not to run a 315 on a 9" rim...would it be fine to run a 305/35 nitto 555r on my 18x9 saleens?

Ahhhh, I dont think so.....a 305 tire is pretty damn WIDE. I dont think you should go over a 275 or 285 with that 9 inch rim. If your dead set on some big boys in the back get a set of 10 inch for the rear and try to sell your 9's :D

you need to check the diamater of those tires to make sure they are not off from one another, if they were it would probally make them look funky on you car ;D ;D ;D. But I think it would be OK. Im not sure if there is a 285 in a DR tire :-\ have you checked on that? I know there is a 275 for sure

315's with 10.5 wheels FTW!!! wider always looks better!!!

also, i'd go no less than a 275 on the front... 245's give you no protection if you get close to a curb. ive got 255's on the front now and the old lady trashed one of my wheels leaving the bank

That's what I run. I've got the regular 555's.
Will probably want the R's when I'm done here.

I think the Nitto's look great too.

I have the nitto's for my summer tires. There pretty decent. Take a look at the Good Year GS-D3 F1's. There pretty decent rubber as well.

I have 245/40zr18s on front and 275/35zr18s on back. I am currently running the BfGoodrich G-force TA KDW new tread. the front measures 25.7 inches tall and the back measures 25.6 inches tall. some 275/35s do measure 25.7. The difference is not even seen though. The 285/35 is going to be a little taller and wider than a 275. I have a 2 inch drop and have no problem with rubbing, but it is close. I have worked in a tire shop for 3 years before and seen the goodyear gs-d3s have alot of belt problems. I only seen one set that didnt split before 20,000 miles. Nitto does make a drag radial in a 275/35r18. I looked at them myself last week. The nitto should get more treadlife than the BFG. Nitto claims 14,000 miles out of them. I dont see how because they have a treadwear of 100 and start at 6/32nds of an inch. That normally equates to about a 7,000 mile tire.
