quick question

I got 17 inch chrome cobras on my cobra but the problem is the finish is peeling really bad inside and its starting to work its way to the actual wheel. I've asked around about a way to fix them but haven't had any luck. I was thinking about powder coating them gloss black. so my question is does anyone know how to fix the peeling chrome or does anyone know if its possible to take the chrome off completely and just powder coat them. all help appreciated.

no, yes...but they would look dumb all black, maybe a nice silver would look better.
