radar detector installs

just wondering who has a radar detector and how they have it installed. i am thinking of getting one. so far i am thinking of getting an escort passport 8500 x50 in blue, maybe even a valentine v1.

i was thinking of gettin the visor clip and clipping it to the headliner right above the mirror and then hard wire it with a smart cord and run the cord through the headliner down the a pillar to power. i dunno where to mount the smart cord display. i may not use the smart cord and just do a regular hardwire instead. just wanted see what you guys have done.

I have mine mounted with the suction cup bracket right below the rear view mirror mount. Then I hardwired it to the fusebox.

I have one, its just for those damn Gatso roadside speed cameras that we are littered with over here.
As they are fixed at the roadside, its no problem for the GPS to know the location, police mobile and hand helds are another matter.
However you have to take it and the suckers off the window nowadays, then wipe the sucker marks off.
Scummy thieves are assuming the sucker marks are made by Tom-Toms sat nav etc, and are smashing windows to get inside the car and look for them.
You just cat win.
