you know Dalmar Inspired me to chow my restro off but I am not as far as him. but I am still making attempts. This is my 1965 Chevelle. My father bought it. in 1964 in Reedsport Oregon. after a few years my dad went to war. and my grandfather decided to pull the 300hp 327 chevy out and use it for it own use. So afterwards the car sat untill 96 when my father brought it back from the coast as a rust bucket. and I slowley went to work on it so here is a couple pics. I hope to proceed on it soon.

The Rear end with a summit Rear griddle cover

My front lower control arm gusset

The rear trailing arm mount boxing also cut for my 2 " mini tub
mustang109-1.jpg

You can see where the Frame as moved inward for the mini tub
mustang108-1.jpg

Also another Gusset where the shock and the top of the spring go
mustang107-1.jpg

again you see the offset in the fram for the mini tub where i reinforced it on the rear

Sweet man.
The frame work doesn't look pretty to most forumers, but it's the foundation of the car.
Looks pretty good.

That suspension stuff looks nice, Defintely go with updated componants.

Should be a light car.

What are you doing for the motor??

Well the motor I used to have a link to it.

Speed-o-motive makes it .

with a 395 c.i. Small BLock Chevy

Keith Black pistons (can't remember the cc's)
Total Seal gapless Ring
Eagle 6" rods I beam instead of the 5.7 inch rods
Eagle 3.800 stroker crank

All Forged Runs 9.4.5 compression with a 76cc head

Then I plan on using the holey stealth ram injection system upgrading it to 42lb injectos.
then Runs a s type vortech s/c dart heads a good cam ect..

I have got lots of plans I think the frame will look sweet once powdercoated and all parts on it.

yeah it was a lot of work keeping that frame in square but i got it done the reason I did a mini tub is. for one I didn;t mind but the earlier years of chevelle you could only get a 275-285 to squeeze under there and you had to roll the fender lips to do it. Well a man named mark stielow found a way to do a mini tub on a the earlier years of chevelle that made it not very hard. he got a 315 tire under there no problem no fender rolling hey did a 2 inch mini tub now I mini tubed a little more then what he did he said he basicly tubed the max before doing really heave frame work. I got it out to 2.25 tubed yeah i know 1/4 inch wohoo but I am hoping to get a 335 under there. and 275 up front.

Sound sweet man!

I'm going with Baer brakes too, similar to the ones on my 96.

Do they make a surpentine for that motor?
I'm gonna have to fab most of mine.

I decided to stay away from computer controlled/fuel injection on mine...

Just curious, why the 6 speed?

I'm debating a roll cage in mine.

Bad ass plans you got there. Im sure it will evolve as you go, mine sure is.

Well I see your car as pro touring right i could be wrong. But my car I want the power and i want to beable to have a nice ride but corner abiltys then the sweet look of the classics the highway driveabilty ect. one of my main reasons for the 6 speed is highway this car will see a lot of highway miles . Plus you got the hydrualic clutch conversion and that feels nice. I am still debating on the fuel injection but I want to do it over carburated. like they say more efficiant.

I was also going to do moser because I know how great of a company they are. I went with summit because the griddle is cheaper but stronger. I am not sure who makes it I know summit has numerous companies that make things and summit slaps there name on it. yeah I tubed it cuz i wanted to go wider than 275 and i like the look of a 17x11 rim and I did not want to jack my car up like 6 inches for the tire to clear the fenderwell.
