Bought this for 200. Suppose to have a Detroit locker and 3:73. I've already verified it's not a 3:73 cause turning the wheel a full rotation only gives 3 1/3 rotations at shaft.
Does this unit even look like a Detroit locker or like a factory ford tracklock!?!?

Doesn't matter now. After comparing to my factory I've realized this is a 7.5 and it's 3:25

Guess I'll be payin someone a visit.

Don't the Ford gears have the gearing stamped? Looks like a 3:x5, maybe a 3:45? IIRC the 7.5 had that gear available in early 2.3 Foxes.

Anyway, bummer on the 7.5. I got burned on this earlier this year too for a buddy. But I got it for $100 and it had Cobra rear brackets so I got the rear end for free almost. The does look like some sort of locker for the 7.5.

From what I can tell it is a Detroit locker and that's over $700 alone. The gears are 3:45 and are ford racing gears.

He still says he ordered all parts for a 8.8. Says he pulled rear end from a 92 gt in a junk yard. Makes me wonder of he didn't really know the difference and the place that build it just switched the parts and did t tell him.

I worked too late last night to get help loading it back up so I'm gonna do it this week. At this point in time even if he don't pay up I'll just part it out to get my money back. Obviously there is a need for these parts or they wouldn't make them.

It seems a lot of circle track guys are using this setup as they are never doing hard lunches and this rear end holds up fine for that style racing.

Even the road course, I ran a 7.5" rear from a SVO for 2-3 seasons without any problems. That same rear is running in a competitors car 3 years later.
