Would any of you fine people have dimensions for a Rear Seat Delete.

I found plywood on sale on FB and managed to get a sheet for a third of what the yards want... anyway, I want to make my own, but I wouldn't mind getting ideas of size and materials you may have used. The sheet of wood is 1/2 inch (full sheet).

Thank-you forum members

Approx sizes are 24 x 48" for the back side and 18 x 51" for the bottom side. If your sheet of plywood is 48 x 96 then your good to go. If not, as ttocs mentioned, do the bottom in multiple pieces. Mock-up with cardboard templates as he has suggested.
I did the bottom in 3 pieces, 2 @ approx 18 x 24 and a small filler in the centre of about 2 x 18. Now have 2 concealed storage compartments. Used push pins in existing holes to secure. I used 1/4" plywood so the weight differential should be minimal.20210705_102959.jpg20210705_110257.jpg

I see some dimensions on the support bar as well - not that important - but, the bar - I have that idea as well. I was also thinking of going with tubes (sq or rnd??? don't know yet) as a "box" of some support of some type - gotta talk to a friend of mine that fabricates/designs/works with metal. Something like a super tight to body roll cage. All in my air atm.

I'll start with my templates.

Thanks so much for the help :)

Disregard those numbers. I have no idea what they are for. Seniors thing, write down your measurements on something, cause you will forget them in about 10 seconds. lol

I used whatever scrap pieces of aluminum I had kicking around. Easy to clamp, drill & pop rivet. Think the rail is either 3/4" or 1" angle x about 48" o/l, end brackets place it level with the seat "bulkhead". Centre support was somewhat difficult as alum likes to fracture when bending. Need to apply heat with a propane torch.

I'll measure things in a day or 2 and get back to you.

Disregard the sun shade on the left side. I’m a crappy photographer. But wmac’s dimensions are practically spot on. I know this because I just measured the seat (51” wide)and seat backs because today I’m building a wood storage trunk for them to keep safe from rats and mice and things that go BUMP in the night!1B989A44-9FBF-47DC-A441-81FE133C58BB.jpeg

If you’re going to put fabric or carpeting, don’t forget to subtract it’s thickness from your overall dimensions. A totally snug fit with the plywood leaves NO ROOM for fabric/carpet. Just sayin’..,

Rail support is 3/4" alum angle (about 40" o/l), centre strap is 1" alum flat bar, end brkts are 1 1/2'" alum angle cut to fit. All available at h/d, lowes, h/f, etc.
Back panel is held in place with 3 push pins on each side in existing holes. Top head rest (or whatever it is) is just screwed to back panel only. Bottom panels slide under back panel and secured with one push pin only into existing hole. Working on items to store out of site but easy to reach, maybe room for a small subwoofer.20210907_122949.jpg20210907_123029.jpg20210907_123154.jpg
