Hi all,
I purchased some Cobra fender emblems for a new GT500 because, well, they're much larger and more impressive. Heck, I've got a big motor, why not have bigger emblems?
I noticed that the existing emblems are held on with double sided tape. What I'm wondering is how to remove the originals. I thought heating them with a hair dryer or heat gun and pulling them off by hand would be the safest method. If anyone has done this before I'd appreciate hearing how you did it, what worked and what didn't.
Thanks, CobraRGuy

I use 10 lb Trilene (over 10 lbs, and it starts getting thicker) and after heating it with the gun, I found just a couple of drops of blaster helps the string slide under the backing easier.

WD-40 works also, I just like the smell of blaster. :p

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers, Grego

it also helps if you spray a dab of wd40 on the string, as well as behind the emblem to help it slide through.

Hi All,
Getting the old emblems off was fairly easy using the fishing line method. These SN95 fenders have more curve to them than the GT500 it seems, so I had to heat the new badges and bend them a little to get them to fit better.
The Holley EFI wiring harness adds some color 8^)

Thin fishing line or possibly try some WAXED dental floss. Careful with the heat but it helps.
