yeaidunno... I could see it cleaning some contacts and helping things but I could also see the solvent properties not being so good.

1st, WD40 will clean connections and crud but will do nothing for the first hit board unless it is contaminated with something that is shorting contacts.
2nd I have never seen a front amp fail. Not impossible of course. It is usually the rear amps that go.
I would bet it’s a wiring issue or a mismatched set of radio/cd player

Hi,

Radio, CD and Loom parts are all out of the same car so it's not that.

I've realised i've got some "test" cables in the form of those from the loom I have not used yet so may do some elimination.

As frustrating as this is, it's actually quite interesting too!

Just a thought, did you add the fuses needed in the fuseblock for the mach amps? Its been for ever since I looked at it but I thought there was one or maybe two in the block only for the amps.

Hi all,

Some good news - it's all done and working!

I used pretty much most of the loom supplied with it and only had to splice in 1x cable - solid yellow for Amp power which I took from the power to the radio.

Sound quality is excellent and I'm really pleased - here here to the old WD40 once again!

And I left the original wiring in as well if ever needed again in the future.

Test bed...





And final result.



Thanks to all who replied on this one for the help and pointers given - got there in the end and that's now it - no more mods to do as she's now as I want her!
