it is common for sometimes to hear your intake sucking in air. i usually only hear mine on colder days but possible. are you experiencing any performance loss?

well i haven't really driven the mustang because i have not gotten insurance on it yet so i cant really say if i have had performance loss, everything is stock so i dont know if that would play a part in it. it just sounds weird.

the only example i can give is it sounds like those toy trucks that you have to rev on the ground by pushing it forward like 4 times then letting it go. ( if that makes any sense)

i will try to upload a video

Could it be the smog pump? When I got my car it sounded similar to that. The PO blocked off the smog pump, but left the pump.

what year is your car?
On the 94/95 5.0L the smog pump is towards the passenger side under the alternator and resembles an A/C compressor.
If you're talking about my seats, thanks they're stock.

Your 4.6 doesn't have a smog pump. The sound you are hearing sounds like it could be the intake. Do you have a cold air intake on it? I noticed the same type of sound when I put the cold air on mine.
