Drove it around a little bit and am very pleased to report that it is a total blast to drive with the stick in it. Way more fun than before. But I noticed my computer losing control of the cams on one side, so I thought it had a lazy phaser. Swapped them and the cam sensors from side to side.

The end result was exactly the same. In the next picture look at vvt3 target vs actual.

That’s an intake cam, no advance = no power. It also means uneven from side to side. Needless to say, the megasquirt isn’t cutting it anymore.

Checked all the wiring to the computer and everything was good. I deemed that the cams are just too much for this MS3 to handle for daily driving. Debated back and forth on getting a control pack or a Holley efi setup. Ultimately decided to get the Holley HP efi with cam controller.

And I pulled the harness back out of the car yesterday and stripped it back down. Made some changes and cleaned it up in preparation for the Holley harness install.

Thanks to a picture from @white95 i decided the Holley is going in the glove box. So I made a mount plate for that today.

Not as much as I’d like to be!

This computer and fan controller will allow me to get rid of the extra relay box and extra fuses I had to put in before. It will somewhat simplify my wiring.

So far, I really like the Holley software. It’s a lot more user friendly to someone like me that isn’t an IT person. Megasquirt is nice, and can do a lot, but you basically have to tell it every little thing to do. I don’t have that knowledge. I’m thinking about using that for the 5.4l going in the f100.

Decided against mounting the HP behind the glove box. Keeping all the a/c stuff in there was tight and the ecu didn’t want to fit. I settled on the good ole airbag location. Got all the wiring finished up on the car harness. And pulled all the Holley wires in to the car.

Connectors in the kick panel getting really cluttered.

Made the mount plate for the cam controller and mounted it in the same spot as the megasquirt was.

Got all the wires ran to the engine and connected. The only thing left is the fan controller and the main battery connection.

I love the idea but it's hard to justify when I only drive it 2000 mile a year...
