Not the best photos but I took these the other day when I was inspecting the cylinder bores. There is a 26 it looks like stamped on one of the pistons Screenshot_20200312_201705_com.android.gallery3d.jpg Screenshot_20200312_201750_com.android.gallery3d.jpg

It’s been a long time now but the new engine is finally in and running but the speedo has decided to go a little mad (see the second video) any ideas what’s gone wrong with it?

Hmm. Is it a gear-driven speedo or digital? If it's gear, maybe they're worn and just barely catching? It happened with mine on the tach. Had to pull out the whole cluster and overnight it for replacement.

Make sure you got all grounds grounded good
And make sure you did not pinch any wires between bell housing and engine
Recheck all connections for transmission
For jumping speedo needle
You were doing 100 mph in neutral

Yes it’s a digital speedo. I’ve tried reconnecting all plugs but it’s made no difference. Going to check all the grounds on Friday
