I have Cobra PBRs on the front and rear. The first pic shows the thin wear pattern on the 13" rotors.

I bought a set of spindles for 75.00 so I could change the bolt pattern to fit S197s

I cleaned up the spindle.

The S197 calipers fit better and fill the whole rotter with the brake pad.

The caliper frame is too large to fit on SN95 spindles. I planed to weld up the spindles and move the mounting holes. I figured wrong, the frames look easier to weld and move the holes.

I put the mounting bolts in the lathe and center spotted them, the spread is 5.157, that is the secret number.

I welded up the holes and added some more so I can move the holes closer. I used this TIG rod.

Next I cut, drilled, tapped.

This took me 8 hours to do, came out nice. I will try to do the other side tomorrow but..

The alignment came out right. I used 1/16" clearance on the rotor edge and 1/4" between the caliper and the wheel. The bolts went in perfect, I cut the threads to 80% engagement for extra strength.

Yup, came out better that I expected, but I did the second one wrong and I am still working on it. I tried using 308L TIG wire on the 2nd. bracket to do the weld up, It works very well on cast iron, good flow and very strong but it is too hard to machine, not enough nickel in the finished weld.

I like it. How much bigger are the piston on the S197 calipers than the SN95's?

Sweet, ever consider making a CNC bracket? This looks better that the FTR kit and you don't have to upgrade to a 18" wheel.

I have all the FTR brake stuff...Barbi for men. What brakes should I use today?
I have done this project to see what kind of trouble it was to do, how much weight change, brake bias.

And yes I have considered it, but I sold my CnC machine. BUT!!! I got a new job offer today and I might buy a new one. I think I will try to name the new manufacturing company "OldCrows Mfg." see if I can push that through, we want something that can not be figured out who we are connected to..
