FB forcefeeding me tuning website advertisements, probably because i be scoping out my options for replacing the stock computer and harness.

But check this out! This might be something old and im out dated, but this is new to me. Many devises out there need unlocking and can be reused on another mustang.

No exp with the sct handhelds. They were very popular back a few years. With all the new tech many are just going stand alone now.

Don't those products support buying new vin licenses from the manufacturer?

I bought a 2nd vin license for a Diablo tuner by connecting it to my PC and buying it in-app.

I get that a hack might be cheaper but that's kinda like everything at the store is free if you walk out the door with it.

Edit: I was reading the FAQ on their site and apparently some tuners have an arbitrary limit on how many "unlocks" (total number of cars) that piece of hardware will allow to be tuned, which might be in order to allow that company to sell a separate business license for commercial customers. It does also mean creating more landfill waste which I'm not in support of, those companies should at least offer to buy back "used up" devices to factory unlock & resell.
