Hi Everyone,

I live in western Pennsylvania and I am hoping to use the power of the internet and, more specifically, this group, to help me surprise my wife by finding her first car, a 1994 Mustang, white, V6, Automatic, with (as I understand it) a somewhat rare red interior. She owned it from 1997-2003. For many years after, we would see it parked around a local college. Unfortunately, I cannot find a VIN for it. I'm hoping that someone may have a lead on its whereabouts. In terms of Mustangs, it is by no means "special" or rare, but the car meant a lot to her and I'd love to get it back, or at least let her see it again. Attached is a pic of it taken when she first got it. I do have the license plate and will try to call the DMV to see if they can help, but I think that's a long shot given how long it's been since she's owned it.

Good luck!

In 1994 there were 18760 white mustangs produced. Although the red interior isn't common with respect to other interiors, I would imagine there would be 100s of cars like the one you described. Without any identifying modifications/markings/VIN it's going to be difficult to find your exact car.

Also there's a good chance the car doesn't exist for 3 reasons:
1. It's a v6 - most owners won't take good care of them, especially after 20+ years
2. It's crystal white - the paint will almost definitely be peeling off now in waffle size chunks.
3. It has porno red interior - although rare, not desirable.

Just a heads up, good luck though!!

So, after hitting dead ends with the DMV and her old insurance agent, I stumbled upon a piece of paper in a box with the original owner's name and phone number. I called them this morning - and they still had the original window sticker for the car, so I now have the VIN!

Ran a Carfax on it and the car appears to be alive and well about an hour north of me. Now I just need to track down the current owner.

This all happened within the course of about an hour!

Just being realistic haha! Now that they have more information and the VIN there's a better chance of finding it!
Just be aware that it may not be in the same shape as when you sold it...

That is awesome! Good luck and be sure to post pictures here when she's getting it back!

Amazing that the car is still relatively close to you after 23 yrs...

Thanks everyone! I am pretty encouraged. I am running the VIN to get the current owner's address. Hopefully I will have it soon and can contact them. I will post updated pics of the car if I get a chance to see it!

Keep us posted , I am interested. Also take a video of your wife reaction when she sees the car. Does she know that you're on the hunt?

Will do....she knows that I am on the hunt....but I don't think she realizes how serious I am about buying it back...which I will naturally do behind her back ;)
